Unique social film experience

(Update on my radio show): http://doolittlebrothers.com/
Over the past few years, I have made very notable strides in overcoming social anxiety issues and becoming a pretty social individual. Though not a natural thing for me, I am certainly not the same person who just four or five years ago would routinely go days without any social interaction outside of my home.
It was never a major problem, which is a good thing since I now have a live radio show! But I did tend to allow my introverted tendencies to dominate …

Looking forward to the show

The fact that I will be on the radio speaking live about the NBA this Saturday is quite an interesting development.  It feels good, and also feels like the natural culmination of so many paths that inevitably should land at this collective destination. It seems I have two options: waste time being worried about something going wrong, or just go with the flow of the show and have a great time doing what I want to do.
I’ll choose the latter. Ample preparation combined with enthusiasm, good content, interviews and analysis …

Sometimes big ideas really do come to fruition

When one is trying to cover all of the social media bases available for self-promotion, it can be kind of daunting. Promoting myself is an unnatural thing for me to do, yet I have plenty of reason to do so – and it is necessary as I prepare to launch my NBA radio talk show, called At the Buzzer on Team 1380.

Looking for work is … unsettling

I still forget just how therapeutic writing can be, so as I deal with a large volume of frustration I have turned to a brief blog entry. Looking for employment is more than just a trying experience; it is exceedingly full of agony, irritation and maddening experiences. I use that three-pronged word approach to not be redundant, but to emphasize what this process embodies. I realize that potential breakthroughs and a fresher future await – and that there is an element of excitement involved.
The downside to this process that leads …

Sometimes you get shown the light …

The short-term future that I see is much less murky than the long-term, yet each brings with it an impressive degree of cloudiness with just enough clarity to firm up this mix of perception, hope, desire and reality. Not to be overly cryptic, but I feel that I am facing an axis, a spinning wheel of personal evolution that will obviously lead me to the inevitable future – but what lies beyond today has much more of a mysterious overtone than the cozy, comfortable tones one wants to be accustomed …

It can all turn in a flash

This past Thursday was a solid example of one of those days when events take a very sudden turn for the worse at the most inopportune time, causing major parent panic. It was not an overly serious circumstance, relative to genuine emergency. But just as I was experiencing a fatherly zenith while enjoying a gorgeous evening at the park, my little girl starting throwing up all over the park playground. Not good times.
I certainly realize now that each day as a parent of a baby or toddler brings with it …
