Basketball, life balance have strong connection

I love to play basketball. I always have, yet there have been a few incredible gaps in my lifetime where I simply did not include basketball in my life. From my early college years to a couple of years into my career as a sportswriter, I did not play much at all. Upon further reflection, this is no surprise since physical fitness had zero priority in my life for that five- or six-year period.

My car is messed up, but that is ok

It is perpetually fascinating how quickly one’s sojourn through a typical day can turn. Yet, it is inevitably amazing. I was enjoying a very fine Monday, when all of a sudden I found myself staring at the front of my car – which was not quite attached as it should have been.

Time: Ticking away the moments

It seems on most nights, I look at the clock and see something like 11:38pm, 12:19am, 1:03am … and I look at that day’s list and realize I have to carry so much over into the next day. I also think, man, I really want to watch some TV. In each circumstance, if I were to complete that day’s list and also indulge in 2 or 3 hours of television, I would be caught up just in time to deal with the morning.

You will get out of this maze

There are countless moments of every day, week, month, year, decade and lifetimes where one experiences some sort of a definable crossroads. This is inevitable, and is merely amplified by increased awareness of this occurrence. Dealing with these intersections is part of a typical existence, but what I find very challenging is when multiple junctions overlap and cross into your daily pattern of concern.
