A glimpse into a far-fetched dream

One of the quirky results of having a twin-television setup in my Man Cave is random parallels between the two screens. The frequent synchronicity is quite often startling, and also humorous or just plain cool.

The photo above (click image to see full-size photo) is a recent example of this phenomenon. I was watching MLB TV on the smaller screen on the left, with the Cardinals game being featured on the primary (flat HD) screen on the right. The A’s were using rookie relief pitcher Sean Doolittle to close out a victory.

Just as that game ended, and Doolittle’s Oakland teammates began to congratulate the youngster, the main screen had a close-up of Cardinals VP and GM John Mozeliak. He was seemingly staring right at the other TV.

In my mind, I was thinking, “Man, this is a dream-like vision.” The St. Louis Cardinals GM watching “me” close a game. I mean, it is beyond far-fetched, though I did pitch through sixth grade. But, were I to pitch in the Majors, I suppose it would look like this … if I were a left-hander, younger and taller and a professional athlete. At least I have the name.
