The sad story of LeBron James

(My radio show on 7.10.10 featured extensive analysis regarding LeBron James’ decision to leave for Miami. The following commentary is primarily an excerpt from the show’s opening commentary. The audio link to this show is here.)
Please, please … please … tell me that LeBron James did not just leave Cleveland; that the unthinkable, the unimaginable, the unfathomable did not go down this week. That I was NOT proven wrong.
It is a very unfortunate situation in Cleveland, where hometown hero LeBron James decided to end his quest to bring that city …

Perspectives from a morning’s monumental struggle

It is much easier and enjoyable to write about the great times I have with my two-year-old daughter as a stay-at-home father rather than the rough times. Usually, that is at the forefront of my daily experiences.

Though I was only 10 years old, I recollect returning to the Iowa family farm from a family vacation only to hit severe ice just about 30 miles from home.
Now that was messed up! In my mind, as long as my …

A landmark tinkle to save the morning

There are certain things only another parent can relate to. Such as the fact that my day yesterday started off very rough, yet was instantly saved thanks to my daughter peeing in the toilet!
This is not a typical week for my family. My daughter just began going to a child care center a few mornings a week; a place that functions more like a preschool than day care. It has been going great, but they are closed all of this week. So my daughter is home with me full time …
